My favorite quote (we all knew this was coming) from Ira is: “The work you’re making will be as good as your ambitions.” I really have it good if I could live this mantra- because I’ve got a laundry list of ambitious projects, and all the time in the world to complete them since working from home. Screenprinting studio, Painting studio (actually set up now, shazaam), Shoe Project, Calligraphy, Website, you know how it goes. What needs to happen, is that I don’t let my ambitions over-pressure me, and cause me to spin into an unnecessary calamity of self-expectation. This, with my critical, perfectionistic, sarcastic nature, will be a breeze.

All in all, I need to learn more. And by this, I mean I need to learn by doing, more than by creating a competition with my Google Reader’s Been Read count. This has always been a somewhat age-old argument among artists and designers when it comes to inspiration and productivity, and I want to test the theory once again. I think weekly projects is the key. Do more, explore more… Let’s see where this goes…
