Helvetica Film: RIT Greetings!

As part of the “Helvetica Team”, I created signage for the film’s arrival. I also created a slideshow that played before the movie, displaying “Design Rules” that I had re-created to fit into a theater context (“Extreme ascenders please choose seating in the back rows”, etc. Full list soon!). The t-shirt, Helvetica cake, and display cases (along with posters, gift bags, and more) were all additional efforts from the volunteering design team. (Members: Josh Gomby, Kristen Bell, Lauren Dellaquila, Advisor Ryan Clifford, and myself. Cheers to only having 2 days to organize all this!)

In addition, we were personally mentioned on Director, Gary Hustwit’s blog (link), “The Buffalo and Rochester screenings were both great, but I’ve got to hand it to the students at RIT. They put together the best collection of collateral material of any screening we’ve had so far… t-shirts, multiple posters, Vignelli-inspired subway signs, a museum quality Helvetica exhibit, even a giant Helvetica rice crispy treat. RIT has officially set the bar in terms of attention to detail. Thanks everyone!” We embraced the competition it caused, and are still watching what the schools are coming up with next!

Greetings from RIT!

Lewag Tramway Identity System

Kirow, Leipzig, Germany. Kirow aimed to establish themselves in the transportation manufacturing business by creating a new tram, which we named Lewag (pronounced Ley-vog). The tram was durable, flexible, user-friendly, and quick. It also provided uniquely large windows.
